The bartender wiped the area next to where Sid sat down. He walked away and served a few more customers before he returned to where Sid was currently singing along to 'here comes the sun' full volume. The bar was too loud for his terrible vocals to be heard by anyone except by those closest to him. It was 70's night at the club and he was just going to grab a beer or two before his meeting with Mojo, assuming of course that she would show. Perhaps she thought about it over the past few days and decided the last thing she wanted to do would be dance with some creepy dude she just met. Perhaps she will just forget. It happens, God knows Sid forgets things all the time.
"What'll it be, Sid?" Sids' contemplating and singing was interrupted by the bartender. The bartenders was Bill an old friend of Sids from the old world. Well friend was the wrong name, they knew each other in high school and were on good terms with each other. Nothing more then that.
"I'll grab a beer, any kind, surprise me" Sid replied with a quick smile. He dug through one of the pockets in his gold pants looking for his money.
"It'll be $5.50' Bill said as he stuck a Bud Light in front of Sid. Sid gave Bill $6 and started sipping his beer, awaiting the possible arrival of his friend Mojo.

Mojo had gone full out mixing a couple 70's style's together to make a really hilarious costume. She thought it was funny and it fit the era, or at least what she knew of the era. Her inspiration had been taken half from her parents style and half from the stereotypical 70's theme. All in all she was proud of her costume and she didn't care what anyone said. She looked at the time and sighed knowing the bar was already open and she would be a bit later then she had wanted to. Trying to get all the curls on her afro wig to stay up had been a chore but she managed to pull it off. Finally getting to the club, she walked in and moved through the people towards the bar. She had taken today off so someone else was behind the bar serving drinks. It was always nice to get on the other side and be served for once. Spotting Sid and Bill she maneuvered her way over to them. Slapping her hand on the counter top, she grinned hoping it would be a fun night. "I am surprised you actually showed Mr. Dager." she teased talking loud enough for him to hear her. Looking over at Bill, she smiled and leaned against the counter being a bit taller with her high heel shoes. "Think you can manage without me?" she asked also half teasingly knowing the could probably do way better without her getting in the way. "I think I'll try a Mad Jawa Droid Lubricant today." she told Bill watching him go off to get the drink done. ______________________________________________ Costume Mix!: Part One Part Two - defiantly the pants from here!

Sid was ecstatic when he realized that it was Mojo who slammed her hand on the counter and was currently standing within his bubble, if it in fact did exist at all anymore. He was ecstatic for two reasons, the first being that he was rather unnerved that perhaps it was Joe, a big guy who liked to beat Sid up once in a while. Sid usually put up a good fight and he eventually figured that Joe liked the struggle. The second was that he didn't like being stood up, especially by someone whom he had gotten to like even from a first encounter that lasted roughly twenty minutes and occurred six days ago. Sid was a little surprised, pleasantly of course, that Mojo managed to find him. The crowd was quite decent for such a small town and on 70's night. Then again his attire probably helped. He was wearing his gold, tight pants with a tie-dye t-shirt of assorted colours. He also had red shoes, similar to bowling shoes with a slight heal as was the style back in the day. To complete his outfit he also had a Asian style gold-vest that he had once found at a yard sale. The colour of his vest matched the colour of his pants almost exactly, not to mention Sid found the sequence on it to be absolutely hilarious. He was also going to bring his silver jacket but he figured it would have been too much, plus it was too hot in here anyway. "Mojo, you came! I'm glad, I was really looking forward to sharing a dance with you." Sid said standing up from the bar stool and reaching out for Mojo's hand. He lifted her arm to get her to do a spin for him, being extra careful not to disturb the giant, black afro. She was looking dazzling in her 70's outfit. Well as far as dazzling could really go. When it came to that era and fashion, Sid often decided that dazzling was not in their vocabulary quite yet. "I completely forgot that you work here, Bill and I have been friends since before we came to this town." Sid added as a side note. Mojo thanked Bill for the drink when he finally brought it over to her and took a long sip. She didn't drink often and a lot but there was occasions where she would let loose and go all out. She remembered one night she had drunk herself under the table at a house part and couldn't figure out how she made it into the neighbours lawn let alone surrounded by gnomes. It had been a night to remember and to forget. One could never really have either or. It always needed to be a mix of both. Setting her drink down, she smiled and looked the other up and down a chuckle escaping her lips.
"Not bad I expected bell bottom pants and a t-shirt but this is great." she told him fixing her hair hoping it wouldn't fall off again. Her head was full of clips and anything that could keep a wig on. But with the volume of the frizz, it wasn't an easy task. Reaching over, she gently took hold of the others vest and moved the corner up to get a feel for what kind of fabric it was exactly. "Nice I should call you Buddha or something." she teased finding the vest a great addition to the already outrageously amazing outfit.
Laughing, Mojo took his hand and spin around twice before stopping herself to take one last sip of her drink. She knew by the time she came back someone would have done something to it. It was just common sense, at least for her. "Really you need to tell me about that sometime." she told them both. Still holding on to Sid's hand, she pulled the other over to the dance floor where many were already engrossed in the music.

"Then Buddha I shall be" Sid responded. He watched as Mojo took quite a few quick sips of her drink. He grabbed his beer and drank from it to catch up. When Mojo took his arm and lead him towards the dance floor, he quickly set down his drink and gracefully followed her.
A few songs have passed over and now the last notes of one of the less popular songs were twittering away. As they made their way up the stairs to the center of the dance floor the crowd was exchanging places. Those too tired to keep dancing moved down the stairs back to the bar or the sides for some casual chatter and those ready to show their moves crowded together to have good old-fashioned fun.
The beginnings of one of Sid's favorite songs stated to blast full volume through the overworked speakers. The Ballroom Blitz by Sweet was playing it's half-crazed symphony and Sid couldn't help but start moving. His body was moving to the rhythm and suddenly he was in full swing and dragging Mojo along with him.

Mojo laughed at the others acceptance of the odd nickname. Maybe she should stick with it and see how that turns out. The only problem was that he seemed to only have one Buddha characteristic about himself. As far as she knew for now. She smiled and weaved in and out of the crowd of people who were leaving the dance floor already partied out. Standing there for a few seconds as the songs changed Mojo wondered what songs they would play.
She preferred the oldies any day to the new stuff that they blared on radios. The old stuff was fun and meant something. The ones that could be heard now were all the same generic crap that made no sense and had more sex then bunnies in heat. She fixed her hair and grinned excited when she heard the beginning of the song. Jumping up and down a bit with excitement she hoped the other knew the song.
Before she could even ask, Mojo started in disbelief when Sid burst into dance. It seemed like the music took over. She held his hands and started moving to the music. For her it didn't matter if there was a specific way people used to dance to this song. She just did whatever her body told her to and it made for the best moves and dancing. Laughing, she spun around a few times before going back to moving to the rhythm. It was like catching a bug and you couldn't stop moving even when the song was over.

Sid swung back and forth playing corny moves to the music. he loved dancing, he felt so alive when he danced. He never cared what kind of music it was as long as there was even the slightest bit of rhythm to move to. He always loved to dance, even when he was a kid. His mom would always play the popular music during her free moment. His dad would stick with the oldies especially when he hosted barbecues. The good old days back when he was a little kid. Guess that was one of the few things that stuck with him from childhood.
He kept swinging even as the brief moment of silence between songs loomed. He was in the groove and he could tell Mojo was having a good time too, at least it appeared that way. Hopefully she'll spend a few more dances with him. He was having a blast.

Mojo was so lost in the music she didn't even see time go by. She just kept going from one song to the other her energy and enthusiasm not wavering one bit. If she could she would probably do this all day. She remembered when she was younger and her mom would pay all the mix tapes her father had made her when they were younger. It was those that she grew up on and they might be the reason for her dislike for anything new these days. She would give the new stuff a listen, but it never really ended up being her cup of tea.
Mojo kept moving past the new couple of songs. It wasn't until her wig slipped off that she stopped and laughed. Now she was up to the point where she was sweaty and hot from all the dancing. It was time for a small break, at least for her anyways. "I need a drink..." she told him before heading off the dance floor towards the bar once again. She would understand if he kept dancing, but she needed to catch her breath.

Sid laughed when Mojo said she needed a drink "I thought you'd never stop" he commented clearly out of breath. He was sweaty but still felt energetic though the idea of a drink was extraordinarily appealing at the moment. He happily followed Mojo down the stair back to the bar. It was packed down there at this point but he noticed a couple just about to leave a two-person table near the bar. He quickly jolted past Mojo whispering "we've got ourselves a resting spot, my dancing queen" as he leapt towards the table making sure no one got to it before him. They needed a nice and comfy spot to rest to rebuild their strength for the rest of the night of dancing. He loved dancing with Mojo, she was among the best dance partners he had ever had.

Mojo got up to the bar and ordered herself another drink. Before she could turn around and ask Sid what his poison was, the man in tight yellow pants bolted away from her. She couldn't help but laugh at the image find that their costumes were most likely scaring people away. If she was normal like everyone else she too would be scared by the assortment of colours and tacky designs.
Seeing that he was only getting them a table to sit at, Mojo got Sid a bottle of whatever he had been drinking before they started to dance. Getting their drinks, she weaved her way through the crowd hoping not to spill any liquids. Sliding into a chair at the table, she set the drinks down and laughed. "I hope this isn't our final resting spot, cause I can go all night if you can keep up." she teased finding Sid a very good dance partner. If he didn't object too much to it she would defiantly be dragging him dancing a lot more. It was hard finding someone who could last that long and still go at it again after.

Sid was in the middle of a memory. He was remembering a time when he was dancing with one of his ex-girlfriends and she broke her wrist. He remembered that it was strictly her own fault seeing as he hadn't even been near her at the time but she blamed the accident on him. He was thinking about how long it took him get back into dancing with a partner. They had broken up over the incident and Sid had lost a bit of trust for women in general after that occurrence.
Sid noticed that Mojo had brought him another beer and he was grateful for the refreshing taste. "Thanks so much, I needed this and let me tell you that after i catch my breath I'll be right back up there trying my best to keep up with your smooth moves" Sid commented smiling. "Now what do you say I tell you a story?" Sid asked. The room was loud and crowded but the tables were small enough that when two people sat close enough they could here each other quite well and the potential for eves dropping was close to none. Sid liked that very much. It meant that he could talk freely to another person without the worry of prying ears overhearing what he was saying.

Mojo set her wig down on the table next to her drink before she picked up the glass once more. Taking a long sip from it, she was after all very thirsty from the dancing. Maybe she had finally found some competition when it came to dancing. Or at least a partner to dance with. She would have to see how often she could drag him out here for a good night of fun. He last dancing partner hadn't really liked dancing he old did it to be with her. She ended it once she noticed he was only using it. It didn't cause her to stop either way. Heck, she was even more determined to get better.
"I can't wait." she told him referring to them going back on the dance floor. "You're a great dancer by the way I am having trouble keeping." she told him and smiled taking another sip of her drink. She sighed contently letting the cool liquid run down her throat. Hearing the offer of a story, she leaned forward and rested her head in her hands. "Go for it. I love a good story."

Sid blushed lightly at the complement, he rarely ever heard those anymore and he was modest enough to be humbled by it. "Wow, thanks Mojo but frankly I think you're way better then me when it comes to dancing" he countered. He took a few more sips of his beer then took out a black bandanna from his back pocket, with some effort, and wiped some sweat from his forehead. He also pulled out 6 bucks and repaid Mojo for the beer.
Sid loved telling stories and this was definitely his favorite place to tell them, usually because no one interrupted him, or cared what he was saying. This time he hoped his story won't bore an attentive listener.
"When I was young, about ten or so, there was a terrible storm in the little town we lived in" Sid started "My younger brother and I were sitting in the middle of the room cowered under a blanket with a flashlight watching the lightning and cringing at the thunder. My mom had just made us some snacks and she brought them to use. She sat down beside us and we gave her some our blanket to wrap around herself. Suddenly lighting struck and this amazing crack of thunder shook our house. my brother let out a scream and I jumped quite high as the thunder hit." Sid told using his arms sparingly but enough to add to the effect of the story. "My mom asked us what we were afraid of more, was it the lightning or the thunder. My brother and I quickly responded that we were much more afraid of the lightning. That's when my mom told us something I never forgot. She said 'thunder as scary as it may sound will never hurt you, it is the lightning that causes the bulk of chaos. Be it a lesson to the both of you, sometimes the outward appearance is deceiving and you need to know the whole story before making a decision about whether something is bad or good.' At the time I didn't really understand what she meant but as the time passed by I realized how much sense those words of advice really have." Sid paused as he took another sip of beer. He wondered whether he should go on with what he was trying to say or not. He watched Mojo for signs of impatience or disinterest.

Mojo was also feeling the heat and she wished there was a part in the club that wasn't so hot. She figured she could get into the back and maybe sit in the lunch room to at least cool off a bit. Right now however, she was too busy listening to the story. She was a sucker for a good meaningful story. Hell she would even listen to pointless ones because she herself told them often. She waited as Sid said his story, and stayed silent when he stopped talking. She didn't know if he was done with his story or not.
When enough time passed she smiled and took another sip of her drink. "Is this your way of warning me to not underestimate you or something?" she asked as she looked at him. It was a great story and she herself had heard something similar not involving thunder and lighting but the whole find out if something is good or bad. "So have you been in a situation where that applied to you after?" she questioned curiosity evident in her voice.

Sid laughed at Mojo's first comment. "No I'm definitely not trying to warn you, I'm as open as an open book will get" he said. "As for whether I've been in a situation that applied, well I believe it applies in many situations and I have come across more then one during my lifetime." he added as flashes of memories clouded his mind.
"What I'm trying to get at is this; whatever is happening in the outside world it's not what it seems. I have noticed in and other people in the town have noticed that something is not right about what is happening in the outside world. While we are trapped in here, there is very little that we can do but there is one crucial thing that I believe we must do for two reasons. The first is to keep our sanity and the second is for survival" Sid paused and took another sip of beer. He was starting to sound like a lunatic and he was starting to ramble. He wasn't sure how much time he had to convey his theory before Mojo would just get up and walk away so he decided to get to the point. "I believe we need to prepare. We need to prepare by finding out as much about the outside world as we can and to say it blatant and ambiguous terms, we need to build an army. With our army of people we will find a way to get out of here and reclaim what we have known as our country. Reclaim our old lives in any way that is possible. Now I am telling you this because I feel that you are trustworthy, eager, and frankly I want you to be a part of the army." Sid stated waiting eagerly for a response.
He chugged the rest of his beer. It occured to him that this may have a been a bit of a heavy topic for such a fun-filled night but he reasoned that they could dance after to forget the seriousness and that this was probably one the best places to have a discussion of this sort. not to mention he wasn't sure if he would have another opportunity to speak to Mojo about this, plus he figured it was better to get this out in the open case they form a more serious friendship which would result in a much more devastating split if Mojo thought he was a complete nut. This whole situation was beginning to sound like a banana split ice cream.
