Owen was only just beginning to notice Sid's presence, and what he saw he didn't like. From what he could decipher it looked as though Sid was struggling with something, his own mental stability perhaps -- Owen wasn't sure. All he knew was that he would have to pull himself out of limbo if this continued. As capable a person Owen knew he was, it would still be a grand challenge deserving a metal if he could concentrate enough to bring Sid back if he had to. Owen started to feel the tense nature of the situation building, and as suddenly as it was there, it was gone. Owen sighed in relief -- Sid would be okay. That man had some control, he thought to himself. The panic was over, and Owen finally felt as though he could close his eyes and enjoy.

**** Sid was just about to reach heaven when suddenly he stopped floating. Perhaps suddenly was the wrong word to use. More like, the daze had been lifted. He was by no means sober but Sid suddenly began recalling what was going on around him. It seemed to have been a familiar noise that began bringing him back, not that he could by any means recall what that sound was. He started to remember that what he felt below him weren't clouds but in fact grass. He began to realize that it was that he was flying that made the wind ruffle his hair it was the wind moving past him as he remained stationary. Suddenly the murmurs he heard from behind heavens gates became birds chirping. Things started to make sense again.
At this point Sid was confused. He was confused about what was going on around him, confused about whether he missed reality or whether it would be better if he stayed right by heaven. He was confused about where he was, who he was, who he was with and what had just happened. Most of all Sid was confused about whether or not he was bothered about being confused, whether or not he even wanted things to become clearer.

Owen felt the waves leave him as he slowly regained consciousness and aware of all that was around him; including Sid. The familiar feeling of regaining his grip on reality, made Owen smile as the clouds in his mind's eye dissipated. Sensations, feelings, sight, they all fell upon him in a single sweep, as everything became something more than just void, joy and heaven. Of all things, he was glad to feel the soil beneath his shoulder blades; this ensured him that he was back for real. Many times while on this drug, there were false starts as he liked to call them, in which he mistook his flight for reality. This often lead to conclusions based on mental falsehoods, and this was something he wanted to avoid.
The night was growing old he sensed, and thinking so, he sat up, and looked around him. Noticing Sid for the first time visually since his awakening, he had to smile. "Hope you had a good trip mate. Its been a fortnight since of dangled in such things, but it never truly gets old."

Sid sat up, well more like he bolted upright at the sound of Owen's voice. then he turned towards Owen and started to crawl nearer to him. He wasn't sure if he would be able to stand just quite yet. He must have looked rather odd, like a tipsy-turvy animal. "Dude that was fucken awesome" he commented, wide-eyed. "Let me tell you, I've always thought that ethnobotanical plants need to be treated with respect and that trip was precisely why I think that. Absolutely amazing" Sid added. He also felt he should thank Owen for allowing him to experience such a wonderful trip and frankly Sid wasn't one to keep his thoughts to himself. " Thank you" Sid said as he fell forward and hugged Owen.
Sid took a few moments and focused on his breathing and on getting fully back to reality. Soon after there were no side effects, he felt like nothing happened other then the placement of a new memory in his brain. He found he could walk and talk normally again, which also lead him to think like he always thought. He grabbed his backpack and went back to where Owen was. "I think we should go into town, maybe to the archives, tonight and discuss this place, Q-town I mean, and what we know about the world outside." Sid suddenly blurted out. the Shanin seemed to have cleared his mind and his goal appeared in clear perspective. He felt he ought to get to the point with Owen as soon as possible. Plus he was content with this place which meant it was time to move on for the night.

Owen thought that Sid was such a quirky fellow, and felt as though he was someone that he could definitely become dependant on in the future, if the opportunity revealed itself. He scratched the back of his head as he paced around for a second, maintaining his belief that he had his footing back. "That sounds like a grand idea, but I have to push the fact that both of us have probably been up for a while, and after a discussion, of our, plans and ideas, so to speak, I think we might need some rest." Owen made his way back to the path that led into town. "The archives are a safe place to talk anyway -- no electronic bugs, Ive checked. Theres one in the main city hall, but thats all Ive discovered as of yet."

Sid followed Owen sheepishly, he was a bit of an insomniac having wake spells that lasted weeks. The thought of going to sleep was a nice one, reality was, he would probably not fall asleep tonight; too many things crept through his mind. He followed Owen along the path towards town, thinking about whether he wanted to go home or to the pharmacy. The pharmacy couch was a comfortable one but the mattress-filled room in his house had a stronger pull, plus the thought of the fridge full of food pretty much decided for him.
Sid thought about the bugs and the information he had gathered from a fellow named Micheal, who currently resides in jail. "This guys Michael, I don't know how trust-worthy he is, told me that there were bugs in several places. The first one is believable if not partially obvious; city hall. The other ones included the liquor store, Zen Groceries grocery store and the bank. Like I said, I don't know how trustworthy this guy is with his info, but that's what he told me, better safe then sorry right?" Sid said, confiding more information to Owen. Sid was glad that the archives didn't have a bug in them, cause he was starting to believe that that will be a rather popular place to him.
